NAAC has compulsory guidelines that every Accredited Institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure.

Since its commencement, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of VVIT has been working on developing quality and monitoring performance indicators for the Institution. The IQAC has been instrumental in bringing a conscious, consistent and catalytic change in all the 7 criteria as defined by NAAC.

Quality Assurance is a shared responsibility of the entire Institute community. It is a successful endeavor only with the full support and cooperation of the management, the teaching and non-teaching staff, and the students, as it impacts every aspect of the Institution’s work. In the current globalized world of higher education, exercises relating to accreditations, world rankings and ratings of higher education institutions make it necessary to focus on Institutional excellence.


OBJECTIVES OF IQAC

The IQAC of the College is constituted to achieve the following objectives:

  • To develop and progress a heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards Innovation, Sustenance and Enhancement of quality and for the development of internalization and Institutionalization of quality enhancement policies and practices.
  • To facilitate learner-centric environment conducive for quality education by optimizing and integrating the modern methods of teaching – learning process.
  • To provide a sound basis for decision making imbibing all the dimensions of service quality to improve institutional functioning.
  • To act as a dynamic system for quality changes in the Institution.
  • To build a better internal communication to facilitate greater policy implementation and quality assurance towards its stakeholders.

GUIDELINES TO CONDUCT ACADEMIC AUDIT

  • In general academic audit has to be conducted at the end of each semester.
  • The academic audit is conducted by an inter departmental committee formed by Principal/Chairman.
  • The academic audit should be conducted by the committee on the dates assigned for a particular department.
  • The academic audit includes the inspection of attendance registers, bluebooks, assignments, practical records, time table and personal time table, lesson plans, class teacher files, course files, personal files, department library, laboratory stock books, laboratory log books.
  • Suggestions for any improvement in the academic audit conducted should be discussed by the committee with respective HOD, for better performance.
  • The academic audit report should be submitted to the IQAC.


GUIDELINES TO CONDUCT INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

  • The internal assessment is to be conducted as per calendar of events.
  • The circular is to be issued well in advance or one week before the conduction of internal assessment. The sample format of the circular is attached here with. The circular includes submission of question papers with scheme to the respective HOD’s, announcement of marks, submission of report of internal assessment marks to the Principal. The instructions in the circular should be properly implemented.
  • Time table of the internal assessment has to be circulated along with the above circular.
  • The invigilation duties assigned has to be circulated three days before the internal assessment.
  • The invigilation duties have to be strictly carried out, similar to final theory examinations of university.
  • The seating arrangement of students for the internal assessment has to be displayed an hour before the conduction of test on the notice boards outside each of the examination room.
